Brie
Avoided a THIRD hip surgery
Where she was: Uncertainty clouded Brie's mind about her persistent hip agony. Years of chronic pain had stolen her zest for workouts, a good night's sleep, and even simple strolls. Teetering on the brink of her third hip surgery, doubts plagued her about its necessity.
What we did: Brie's journey to recovery began with a heartfelt consultation at our clinic. Together, we delved into her struggles, exploring avenues for relief and crafting a personalized action plan. Through our therapy sessions, we dove into easing her pain with precise mobilizations and targeted exercises, focusing on fortifying the deep stabilizers and rotators in her hips. As Brie's strength grew, we upped the ante, integrating rigorous core workouts into her regimen.
Where she is now: Today, Brie experiences in pain free sleep, unbound by the need to find that one comfortable spot. She's returned to exercising and lifting with renewed vigor, her hips no longer a source of dread. Brie now stands tall and walks limitless, free from hip pain.
Pat
Stopped lifting for YEARS
Where he was: Pat trained intensely in powerlifting and other sports for a decade before injuring his low back and experiencing pelvic floor issues. He stopper lifting for about 3-4 years because of his pain levels. Despite multiple chiropractors, and physical therapists, his rehab was unsuccessful.
What we did: Since pat's goals were centered around being able to squat, bench and deadlift again that's what the aim was. We started off with test and measures finding imbalances that may have been leading to his issues. We started to correct those imbalances and improve his tolerance to accepting load. Pat started to workout again after the 3rd session together. We started basic, using machines as we worked back in the barbell movements. Throughout this process Pat and I had close communication via text that allowed him to ask questions about how he was feeling, if it was normal, and how to help ease the discomfort.
Where he is now: Pat is lifting 3-4x a week, doing the barbell movements he wants to. He has also been able to progress the weights and feel stronger and stronger. Most of his pain has gone away of his low back and pelvic floor. The pain he does experience is manageable but this is normal because he is pushing himself in the gym.
Hector
Stopped Training for almost a Year
Where he was: Hector was dealing with left shoulder pain for a while. He was barely able to lift that arm, exercise, or train BJJ. All he wanted to do was get back to training without pain.
What we did: We needed to address the stiffness and the pain of the shoulder first. How we did this was through mobilizations, dry needling and activation techniques for the muscles. Then we started to incorporate more lifting and movements that he would be exposed to during BJJ.
Where he is now: He is now able to take up to 8 classes of BJJ./MMA without any pain of his shoulder. He no longer feels limited and is worried about the shoulder being painful during or after training.
John
Was able to get his Black Belt
Where he was: Dealing with chronic shoulder pain that wouldn't go away. This was limiting his ability to train at 100% so that he can earn his Black belt.
What we did: Initially I met John after a class where he asked me about his shoulder. I gave him some exercises to try out which gave him some improvement. Then we sat down for an evaluation and figured out what else he needed to allow him to train pain free. We needed to address his rotator cuff and mid back muscle inefficiencies. We also focused on improving range of motion of the shoulder.
Where he is now: John was able to train at 100% after our sessions together. His ability to train while going through the process and then eventually at 100% lead him to earn his black belt. He now is still training in both MMA/BJJ and is also lifting weights to stay healthy without any shoulder issues.
